My name is Francisco Muñoz, and I am an official tour guide for La Alhambra.

My official guide licence number is 00907; I am a member of the Granada Guide Association (AGIP).

Originally constructed as a modest fortress in AD 889, the Nasrid dynasty transformed the site into a magnificent royal complex in the 13th and 14th centuries.

The royal family of the Emirate of Granada’s Muslim monarchs resided in the compound.

The Alhambra’s palaces, with their magnificent palaces, exquisite stucco, wonderful patios, and lovely gardens, are a remarkable example of Moorish art and architecture.

The Alhambra was transformed into a Christian royal palace by Ferdinand and Isabella, the Catholic monarchs, after the Reconquista in 1492.

Later, Charles V expanded the palace to include a lavish home designed in the Renaissance style.

Currently, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Alhambra welcomes millions of tourists each.

Its historical significance and breathtaking architectural beauty draw tourists from all over the world.
